About Isamu Noguchi
Isamu Noguchi (1904 to 1988) was born in Los Angeles and worked across sculpture, gardens, stage sets and design. His furniture reads like sculpture because it was designed by one.
The coffee table came first. He designed it in 1944, and it went into production in 1947: a glass top resting on two wooden pieces that lock together. The table lamp followed the same year. The Cyclone table came a decade later, in 1957, scaled up from a smaller table into a full dining size.

What the numbers show
The coffee table's weight is almost all glass. Of 38 kg in total, 29 kg is the top and 9 kg the base. Place the base first and have two people lower the glass onto it.
The coffee table is low. At 38 cm high it works as a sculptural centrepiece rather than a table you eat from.
Only the lamp is in stock. The Cylinder Style Lamp dispatches in 48 to 72 hours; both tables take 12 to 16 weeks.
Frequently Asked Questions
Who was Isamu Noguchi?
Isamu Noguchi (1904 to 1988) was an American artist and sculptor, born in Los Angeles, who also designed gardens, stage sets, lighting and furniture. His best-known furniture piece is the coffee table he designed in 1944 and put into production in 1947. His furniture is valued for looking like sculpture while still doing a practical job.
What is a Noguchi coffee table replica?
A Noguchi coffee table replica is a reproduction of the glass-topped table Isamu Noguchi designed in 1944, with a glass top resting on two interlocking wooden pieces. It is sold as a reproduction, and every Mobelaris product page states that the item is not manufactured by or affiliated with the original designer. Prices here start from GBP 329.50.
What size is the Noguchi coffee table?
The medium Noguchi Style Coffee Table is 108 cm long, 73.5 cm deep and 38 cm high. A large size is also offered, with its dimensions on the product page. At 38 cm high it works as a low centrepiece rather than a table to eat from. Measure the gap between sofa and chairs before choosing a size.
Does the Noguchi coffee table need assembly?
Yes, but it is simple. The table arrives in two parcels, the glass top at 29 kg and the wooden base at 9 kg. The two base pieces lock together and the glass rests on top. Because the glass is so much heavier than the base, lowering it into place is a two-person job.
What is the Noguchi Cyclone Table?
The Cyclone is Noguchi's round table of 1957: a top on a column of steel wire rising from a solid base. The Mobelaris version has a black laminate top, chrome-plated stainless steel wires and a black powder-coated steel base. It is 102 cm across and 72 cm high, weighs 34 kg and starts from GBP 954.50.
What is the Cylinder Style Lamp?
The Cylinder Style Lamp is a table lamp after a Noguchi design of 1947, with a fabric shade on a three-legged wooden base. The Mobelaris version is 18 cm across and 40 cm high, weighs 1 kg, needs no assembly and comes in black or white. It starts from GBP 59.50, is held in UK stock, and the bulb is not included.
