What the collection holds, piece by piece
Nine of the thirteen accessories are clocks, so the clock collection is the place to compare them in full. All nine are credited to George Nelson. Two stand on a desk or shelf: the Night Style Clock, a table-top brass clock 15 cm wide, and the Pill 4766 Style Desk Clock, 18.5 cm high on a stainless base. The rest range from 25.5 cm across for the Asterisk Style Clock to 76.5 cm for the Sunflower Style Wall Clock.
The other four pieces each do a different job.
- The Hang It All coat rack has a coated steel wire frame, 51 cm wide, 37 cm high and 16 cm deep. It comes in seven versions, from black and maple to multitone and walnut.
- The House Bird is an ornament with an alder wood body on steel wire legs, 28 cm high, in black or white.
- The candle holder is aluminium, 4 cm across and 4 cm high.
- The seat cushion is made for the Wishbone chair in the dining chair collection. Its size and leather are in the questions below.
Do the clocks need batteries?
Eight of the nine clocks list one AA battery in their specification, and none of them includes it, so buy the battery separately. The Spindle Style Clock's specification lists no battery line, so check its product page before you order. The Sunflower Style Wall Clock also lists a quartz movement in its specification.
Which accessories come in more than one colour?
Five pieces do. The Hang It All coat rack comes in seven versions, including black and maple, walnut and four multitone options. The seat cushion comes in beige, black, mocha, tan or white, and the Sunflower Style Wall Clock in black, maple or walnut. The House Bird comes in black or white, and the Ball Style Clock in multicolour or red. The rest come in one version each.
Which chair does the leather cushion fit?
The cushion is made for the Wishbone (Y) Chair CH24 and measures 48.5 by 38.5 cm, 3.5 cm thick. It is semi-aniline Italian leather on the top, with a non-slip fabric underside to hold it in place on the seat. The specification notes that the chair is not included, so order it separately if you need one.
How do I clean the accessories?
Each product page lists its own care line. Most clocks list a spot clean, and the Ball Style Clock lists dusting. The coat rack, the House Bird and the candle holder list a duster. The leather cushion lists dusting and a leather cleaner. As the care differs between pieces, check the line on the product page for the one you buy.
Are any accessories held in stock?
Some pieces and finishes are held in stock for faster dispatch, including the candle holder and the beige and black seat cushions. Each product page shows its current lead time under the Add to Cart button, and it can change with the colour you choose, so check the version you want before you order.
Who designed these accessories?
The product pages credit the nine clocks to George Nelson, and the Designers filter lists the coat rack and the House Bird under Charles Eames. The cushion is made for a chair credited to Hans Wegner. These are reproductions: each product page states that the item is not manufactured by or affiliated with the original designer or associated parties.
