Every piece is shallow, so height and width decide
All seven pieces in this collection are 40 to 48 cm deep, so each one stands close to the wall and takes little floor space. What separates them is how high the top sits and how much wall they need, and on those two numbers the range falls into two groups.
The two media units sit lowest. The Finn Juhl media unit stands 48 cm high and 180 cm wide, and the 190 cm walnut veneer unit stands 60 cm high. Their product pages describe drawers and shelves for media equipment. For more pieces at this height, see our TV units and media consoles.
The five sideboards stand 68 to 90 cm high. The Borge sideboard in oak veneer is the lowest at 68 cm, and the Finn Juhl sideboard is the tallest and widest at 90 cm high and 196 cm wide. Compare them all in our sideboards collection.
Across the seven, widths run 90, 120, 140, 160, 180, 190 and 196 cm. Measure the wall first, then pick the width that leaves the space you want on either side.
What is in the designer storage furniture collection?
Seven pieces: five sideboards and two media units. Five are in walnut veneer, one sideboard is in white oak veneer, and one pairs a walnut stain with a black laminate top. All of them stand on legs, in steel, walnut or oak veneer. Use the type filters beside the grid to show only the sideboards or only the media units.
Which pieces have the most drawers?
The 120 cm junior sideboard has the most, with seven drawers of different sizes, and it also appears in our cabinets collection. The Lucas sideboard has six drawers and a cupboard behind a sliding door, and its specification lists soft-close doors and drawers. The Borge sideboard has five drawers beside its sliding doors. The Finn sideboard has sliding doors over adjustable shelves.
How heavy are the pieces?
Their listed weights run from 44 to 96 kg. The Finn sideboard is the lightest, and the Lucas sideboard the heaviest, with the 190 cm media unit close behind at 93 kg. Five of the seven product pages say they are delivered to the kerbside in wooden crates, so plan how you will carry each piece indoors and up any stairs.
Do the pieces need assembling?
Most need very little. Four of the seven need only their legs or feet fitting: the 90, 160 and 196 cm sideboards and the 190 cm media unit. The 120 cm junior sideboard needs simple assembly and the 140 cm sideboard full assembly. Assembly is not part of standard delivery, but customer support can arrange a quote if you would rather not fit it yourself.
How do I look after walnut and oak veneer?
Dust regularly and wipe the surfaces with a soft, damp cloth. The specifications list a damp cloth and a mild cleaner, and several product pages suggest an occasional furniture polish to protect the finish. On the 190 cm media unit, use a dry cloth and avoid abrasive cleaners, as its product page advises.
Which designs are these pieces based on?
The Finn Juhl sideboard, with its coloured sliding doors and trays, and the Finn Juhl media unit are based on designs by Finn Juhl. You can see more of his work in our Finn Juhl collection. The other five pieces are described on their product pages as mid-century or minimalist designs in walnut, oak veneer and black laminate.
Are these pieces made by the original designer's manufacturer?
No. These pieces are not manufactured by or affiliated with the original designers or associated parties, and we claim no rights in any third-party trademarks. Lead times and warranty terms are shown on each product page, and some pieces and finishes are held in stock for faster dispatch.
