    CONTEMPORARY INSPIRATION

ENSURE A DRAMATIC IMPRESSION IN YOUR HOME

The Mobelaris style of PH 2-2 Piano Table Lamp represent a highly decorative fixture series. Originally designed by Poul Henningsen, the PH 2-2 Piano Table lamp emit a soft and comfortable diffused light. Applying the unique three-shade system, Poul Henningsen designed lightning to permit 12% of the light generated to contribute to the overall lighting of a room, while the majority of illumination is focused outwards and downwards to cast an atmospheric yet effective glow. The shade design is based on a logarithmic spiral, with the centre of the light source placed in the spiral's focal point.

    UNIQUE, INDUSTRIAL DESIGN

Illuminate your living room with the eye-catching Mobelaris Style of PH 2-2 Piano Table Lamp. Inspired by the design of Poul Henningsen, the base, stem and top are chrome-plated finish. Shades are three-layer white glass which has a gloss finish that gives a softly diffuse distribution of light. Perfect for a living room, bedroom, den, library, study or office.

    Poul Henningsen

Born to a famous Danish actress mother, Poul Henningsen started practicing traditional functionalistic architecture, but over the years his professional interests changed to focus mainly on lighting which is what he is most famous for. He was one of the leading figures of the cultural life of Denmark between the World Wars. His most valuable contribution to design was in the field of lighting. He carefully studied reflecting and baffling of the light rays from the bulb to achieve glare-free and uniform illumination. In 1925, one of these fixtures won first prize for modern lighting at the International Exposition of Decorative Arts in Paris. His light fixtures were manufactured by Louis Poulsen and his theories were still practiced by Louis Poulsen Lighting. Other notable designs by him include the PH Grand Piano, examples of which are included in several prominent twentieth-century design collections, including that of the Metropolitan Museum in New York City. He also designed Glassalen for Tivoli Gardens in Copenhagen.
